Project Summary
Scope: To create a mockup/prototype of a simplified, no nonsense, cooking app and an original brand identity.
The Problem: Cooking websites and mobile apps feel cluttered, clunky and are often times difficult to navigate.
The Solution: A straight forward design that will allow the user to spend less time navigating and more time cooking. People who are using a cooking app generally want to know 3 main things: The ingredients, the instructions, and how long the process will take.

Project Summary
I came across this website that seemed to be a well liked business in it's community.
I had heard the owner was somewhat difficult to work with and it sounded like a great challenge for me to take on.
I had heard the owner was somewhat difficult to work with and it sounded like a great challenge for me to take on.
The Problem: Their website was an abomination.
The Solution: As a designer I was horrified by the current state of their website.
As a potential customer I lost my appetite. I took the liberty of creating a prototype (using copy from their current site at the time) to display what benefit my services would provide to their business. I sent the below proposal with a cold email in an attempt to establish a business relationship.

Results: To my dismay, I never heard back from the owner. While updating my portfolio I realized I had not taken screenshots of all the pages to compare the before and after. I return to the site since my lead went cold and unfortunately for me but luckily for them, I see they updated their website not too long after I sent that proposal.
